I tried to live a tax free day today.....

Real Estate Broker/Owner with Miller Homes Group

I tried to live a tax free day today... Yes I failed and failed badly.

*Alarm rang- Tax on electricity

*Went to buy a breakfast Taco- Gas tax and sales Tax

*Made a phone call or two- Phone tax

*Wrote some blog posts- Electricity again.

*Needed to go to the bathroom- Tax on the toilet paper. City sewer Tax.

*Stood on a corner and just breathed in the air- Ticket for loitering Tax. (Kidding on this one)

*Went to the office- Property Tax

*Counted inventory at work- Inventory Tax

*Bought a car- Sales Tax

*Got a paycheck-Tax,Tax and more Tax

It's impossible to live one minute tax free in America.

Yes, but as Robert Kyosaki put it... I don't mind paying taxes, look what it gives us... Just don't want to pay more than my share.

Are we tax burdened?  Yes, in many ways...

Do we get to live in a free country?  Yes, again in many ways.

Oh.. I have to comment... Your wallpaper is great....

Terry, I like that quote from RK that Darren gives. But I'm resenting that our share increases due to runaway spending. There was a reason our forefathers sought refuge from taxation without representation. Kate

Most enjoy paying taxesin fact even here on A/R we have folks that think we ought to be paying higher taxes so indigents can have health insurance. BTW what happened to that guy with assisted suicide.

Why can't families take care of each other like they did in the early 1900 and if you want to donate money to help others give it to them. But I worked for mine and I don't want to give it to the government to give to Acorn or any other nut.

Isn't that the goal.  You know that in official language, the money that you make and get to keep is referred to as an "expenditure"...  The government feels like they have the right to it all, and we should only have what THEY think we deserve.

Great post * Good thought *** These taxes are HIDDEN * we are aware of them when LIBS bring them OUT when they want to give TAX CREDITS to people who don't pay INCOME TAXES.....yet, it is this portion of our country that they TAX the GREATEST...and who don't have the ability to take advantage of our tax codes with business expenses (except when given tax advice by ACORN)....mortgage interest deductions or REAL ESTATE DEPRECIATION!!!! Yeah!!! my favorite!!

Charles - the fact is, you already pay a hidden tax for indigent health care or don't you realize that your direct cost of coverage and benifits is higher because of the care extended to those without coverage or the ability to pay?

Don't forget that you made a phone call and got charged phone taxes, lived in your house and property tax, every good and service has a sales tax, had a closing and got charged deed transfer taxes and property taxes, and the list goes on and on.  Government at all levels is breaking the backs of the American people.

We are all paying more and more in taxes, and struggling to make ends meet, while the govt. collecting confiscating it from us still goes deeper and deeper into debt!
