Best Local Real Estate Bargain in Rockland County

According to my Realtor.org Magazine, listed as a top ranked school system was Nanuet, New York.

Business Week and Cyberhomes have identified 25 locations where the schools systems are outstanding and the homes are moderately priced.

We all know that quality schools correlate with higher real estate prices. When looking to buy a home, you really should consider the school system and look for schools that are rated either an "A" or a "B."

Here are the top 10 schools identified by the survey that scored an "A"

  1. Vandergrift, Pa.
  2. Lake Worth, Fla.
  3. Middletown, Md.
  4. Longmont, Colo.
  5. Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.
  6. Louisville, Colo.
  7. Nassau-Suffolk, N.Y.
  8. Cincinnati
  9. Nanuet, N.Y.
  10. Clayton, N.C.

Nanuet is located in Rockland County and is 19 miles north of Manhattan or 2 miles north of New Jersey; it is 5.4 square miles. In 2007, CNN Moneyranked Nanuet 24th on its annual 100 Best Places to Live list. Nanuet has popular shops and its main shopping center, the Nanuet Mall, lies on Route 59, the main highway.

Buying a home is a very important decision, from deciding on the town, style of home, which Realtor to use, and the list goes on and on. Remember to take your time and always consider all your options.

Kate, I'd say New York is doing very well!  I was happy to see Nassau and Suffolk on there as well!

You're right Carole, there are several great areas in New York that made the top 10 list of "A" rated schools.  I am always glad when I see my local area make any sort of positive headline, hopefully it will bring people back to the area :-)
