Chicago Lost Out On Olympics ~ Maybe The Rest Of The World Sees More Clearly Than We Do

By
Real Estate Agent

President Obama and his entourage is on the way home from Copenhagen.  He probably just got the news too.  Chicago is out of the running for the 2016 Olympics.

So those who thought it was a lock are getting a rude awakening.  The residents from Chicago were making it clear they did not welcome the prospect of hosting the 2016 Olympics.  Looks like the Olympic committee listened.  Something our lawmakers should try to do.

Can't help but wonder how much these trips cost the American public?  How much CO2 did we add to the environment?

You mean even after the tearful exchange of the first lady and Obama adding the presence of the thuggery of Chcago, the Olympic committee didn't cave in? The community organizer only works in America.

Nick,  What I'm hearing is the speeches concentrated so much on THEM.  Did nothing to sell Chicago - just them.  He made some remark about coming to the street where he lived.  That's a thought. They can have a BBQ with William Ayers.

He should not have put himself out on the limb that way.  Just shows he cannot get the priorities of the job straight.  Worry about creating long lasting jobs in the US so everyone can pay those exorbitant health care costs you are about to levy.

Bonnie,

i I really have no problem with president Obama or any President of the United tates taking Air force on and going anyplace they feel like, I think it is an allowable perk for one of the most difficult jobs in the world. I just wish in Presdient Obama's case we could stop the plane from coming back. LOL

Hugh, would that be the equivalent of being left at the airport?  I wonder what country would want him?  The 100 member IOC was none too impressed.

Rahm "Deadfish" Emanuel said "The world will feel comfortable given the diversity of Chicago all the different ethnic communities are there."

That kind of argument worked last November but it didn't seem to work with the IOC.

Bonnie - I've read your posts in silence, not commenting or speaking about anything at all.  Frankly, since you are also in Pennsylvania, I figured we may be able to do business together.  I don't much think that no more.

I've been a Member of the far-left and far-right websites around here for quite awhile.  They both suck and most of the individuals writing on them are nothing more than weak-minded party pleasers.   It seems either Bush was at fault or Obama is the second-coming of the freaking Devil.  You know what, I'm tired of folks blaming the Government for our ills.  Look in the mirror, what do you see besides a partisian bastard?

Can Mr. Obama do anything that is right in your world?  The same could be asked of the left for any candidate that is 'Right' of the Center.  You celebrate Chicago not being host of the Olympics the same as other folks celebrated the War In Iraq being a complete failure.  We are shooting blanks, here.

Thank you, Bonnie.  I'm officially unsubscribing from all this crap.  The entertainment of it all has lost its luster... at least for me.

The Obama bashing here is unbelievably ugly and distasteful. If it were intellectual disagreement over policies, etc... that would interest me. I am all for healthy debate and find it to be among our more laudable american values. But this trash is just mean-spirited and when that line is crossed, all credibility dissipates. I am most disturbed by the hateful comments by the 'christians' in the bunch. My goodness! What kind of ambassadors are you? Hugh.... I am disappointed in you :(

"How much CO2 did we add to the environment?"

Bonnie, how much hot air are you adding to the environment?

Obama was simply looking to improve the economy in one american city. How that can be viewed as a negative is beyond me.

Jason,  I've seen your blog. You've stated your position before posting here about everyone who does not hold the same position you do.

"Frankly, since you are also in Pennsylvania, I figured we may be able to do business together.  I don't much think that no more."

Jason, when I refer my clients for financing I am extremely selective.  The selection process is based on who will do the best job for my client.

It has nothing to do with their personality, their religion, their sexual preferences or their political beliefs.  After all Jason - We are in business to perform a service to others not ourselves.

I offer mortgage options to my clients based on the past performance and delivery of the product.  Steering clients to someone based your personal preference is unethical.

Jennifer.  Obama is ill equipped to be in his position.  That's my opinion. He has no experience in any job other than community organizing.

We have troops in Afghanistan lacking support.  DYING DAILY! McChrystal is asking for 40,000 more troops.  That is not exactly like asking for a petty cash reimbursement. Obama multi tasked his trip to Copenhagen to give McChrystal 25 mins of his time.

Don't you think the lives of our troops are worth more than 25 mins?  Bringing the Olympics to Chicago should have been on the bottom of his list.

Green seems to be the mantle of this administration. Didn't Obama promise lots of green jobs?  Reducing carbon emissions is a worldwide goal. Didn't he give a mandate to the car companies that we own to accomplish this?

I really think a good leader - leads by example.

Grand Total: 8,379 tons CO2 for trip to Copenhagen

By comparison, the average American household has a carbon footprint of 19.5 tons of CO2 per year.

Therefore, President Obama's two day trip deposited as much CO2 into the atmosphere as 430 American families do in an entire year.

Chris -"Obama was simply looking to improve the economy in one american city. How that can be viewed as a negative is beyond me."

Obama should be more concerned about the 9.8% unemployment in the nation, which is really more like 17% when all the unemployed are added.

In case you have forgotten OBAMA is the President of the United States.  Not the President of one American City named Chicago!

He has no concept of priorities!

By the way, stating I am full of hot air by expressing my opinion is an attack on me personally. Seems to me that was mean-spirited on your part.

With this one episode America lost more credibility than all the Bush years. In politics as in a court of Law the first thing taught is #1 Don't ask aquestion you don't know the answer to and #2 Don't put your cedibility on the line unless it is a sure thing.

Obama was told by his handlers that this was a sure thing and would take the publics eye off health care. He has lost creditbility on both. He should start throwing folks overboard at anytime.
