Temporary homes are needed for sick cats at the Maple Ridge SPCA shelter.
The shelter's rooms are currently full and foster care is required. There are ten cats being treated for upper respiratory infection, much like the common cold or flu.
"As soon as one comes in with the symptoms, then the rest of them catch it easier. When you have them together in one area, it kind of compounds the problem. The virus just keeps circulating."
When cats are kept away from the shelter, they recover a lot faster.
Foster care is expected for at least two weeks. Many of the cats are also on medication, which will need to be properly administered daily.
Maple Ridge Residents if you would like to foster one of the cats in question feel free to contact the maple ridge SPCA at 604-463-9511
