Military Home Owners Tax Act

Every once in a while the government gets something right. This time it is extending the First Time Home buyers Credit to any military member that has served overseas at least three months in 2009. The extension is good through November 2010, and could affect up to 350,000 members!

As many know, I am a retired military member and this is one of the greatest times for our military to be able to purchase a home. However, it is not always the best decision, based on how long they will be in place, the local economy, and other factors. But as the military tends to consolidate and troops end up staying at one assignment longer, home ownership can be a very good option for more and more. This will allow more options and that is what makes this country great!

Now, to ensure this gets on the books, please contact your Senator to support the "Service Members Home Owners Tax Act" once it leaves the Senate Finance Committee.

If you live in an area like San Antonio that has a huge military presence, you need to support this!

Scott-

Absolutely! And the Homeowners Recovery Act will help many that have had to move and are in soft markets. Still working some of the details, but the Mililtary could get some relief for short sales, etc.

Regardless where you live and your political views, this is a great bill that will help those that protect and secure our freedoms.

Military men and women sacrifice so much over seas, lets make it as easy for them as possible when they come home!

Support the Military Home Owners Tax Act!
