Seasons Can't Make Up Their Mind In Texas! Leaves Are Turning And Bees Are Buzzing

By

Texas in Fall Summer Spring Winter  .......whatever you want to call the season , can be confusing to those that are new to the area.  Here in College Station Texas  it may be 38 degrees at sunup, and 88 by noon!

Over the last few weeks we have seen trees changing colors like they are supposed to in fall, and the next day the  flowers are blooming like crazy and bees buzzing around them. If you go to a football game late in the afternoon , even if it is warm,  at least carry  a light jacket with you. I once went to a Texas Aggie football game and it was clear and 70 degrees when we got there, and two hours later it was drizzling and 42.  One thing you can count on in central Texas is that you will most likely be wrong when it comes to the weather. If you bet  on the weather here, it is probably a 50 -50  chance you will be right or wrong!  :O)

The weather keeps faking the trees out.  That must be really annoying for the trees.  I love Texas!

We are a mixed up lot Trey for sure in this state with our hot and cold temps. It is a wonder the vegetation ever figures it out.

Trey,

Your mention of "One thing you can count on in central Texas is that you will most likely be wrong when it comes to the weather." brought a chuckle to me tonight.  Sounds like you've got quite a spread in temps in one day.

Ours began at 48 and went to 72 today, looks like 75 tomorrow.

We could use a dose of that heat and sun up our way in Seattle.  Were starting rust up here.

Hi Trey,

Man, I do know abou this one.  I'm a few hours north of you but there's something strange about the north side of Red River.  So often the weather changes at the river.  Doesn't make any sense but it does.  We've always been told that if you don't like our weather, wait 5 minutes and it'll change.

Enjoyed the conversation tremendously the other day.   I love putting voices with faces.

It is very tough on the trees . I remember one spring when they budded out twice. Once before and once after a freeze.

Gary

I don't think they have even after millions of years! LOL

Bill

In Texas it is usually green, yellow, brown.... not too pretty.

Howdy there Trey

The weather sure dose keep one on their toes. It was real nice here yesterday, and then today it looked as if it could start snowing anytime.
