A Place You'll Want to Call Home

There are not many places in Edenton, NC that give you the feel and comfort of a caring stable community along with the warm feeling of home, yet Pembroke Circle is one of those places.  Established in the early 1940's this one and a half block long street is flanked on one side by Filbert's Creek, which leads to the water of Edenton Bay, and on the other by well built forties style homes. i.e. a Dutch Colonial, brick ranch, cottage style homes, etc.   

Skirting the edge of Edenton's historic district, a few of these homes were built in the 1940's to house the marines stationed here in WWII.  It is said that during those days Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack would occasionally fly into the base's airport and stay at one of the local B&B's! Plus, being adjacent to Edenton Bay one can only imagine the fun and adventure new found residents enjoyed on their off time. 

From those exciting formative early days, Pembroke Circle has evolved into a very stable well established community.  If you drive through Pembroke on a Saturday morning you will most likely see people of the community enjoying the early morning coolness by walking/ jogging through the shade and quiet of the tree lined street.  If you are fortunate you might even catch a local boater guiding his boat toward the bay from the creek eager for a taste of bigger water.  .

Pembroke Circle is currently in a gentle transition as some of those original home owners have become older and passed away while others are desiring to move to be closer to their grown children and grandchildren.  This has allowed for several of the homes there to be put up for sale.  I am fortunate to represent two of those homes. One is a very clean and charming Dutch Colonial while the other is a sprawling ranch with water access and a small dock.
