Kennewick Water Follies ~ The Kennewick Rumble on the River is an annual event held in July on the Columbia River. Spectators can enjoy watching Water Follies contestants compete for the Atomic Cup for Unlimited Hydroplanes; the Robert Young Apartments Aerial Demonstrations; and the HAPO Community Credit Union Thunder Cup for Unlimited Light Hydroplanes.
The Kennewick Wa area is an integral part of the Tri City Water Follies Association. It is a not for profit organization that was established in 1965 and continues to be managed by a volunteer board of directors. The Rumble on the River is one of the largest weekend events held for the communities in the Tri City area.
2007 will be the 42nd anniversary of the Tri City Atomic Cup to be presented by the Tri-City Water Follies Association. Some of the world’s fastest race boats will be in Kennewick Wa including; the American Boat racing Association (ABRA); the Unlimited Light Hydroplane Racing Association (ULHRA); as well as civilian and aerial stunts that will entertain and fascinate all who attend the annual Water Follies.
The Kennewick Wa shoreline too will host numerous recreational Water Follies activities, live music and roving performers; and there will be fun on-the-water entertainment to boot. Tickets for the 2007 event go on sale in May, and can also be purchased online through Tickets West: www.waterfollies.com; and an assortment of supermarkets throughout the Tri-City area also sell tickets leading up to event.
