This Friday starting at around 5:30 at the city hall, the events start and I do say events because there is so much more than just the lighting of the holiday Christmas tree planned. (They can call it what they want, but to my family and I it is a Christmas tree)

Beaverton Christmas Tree Lighting

There are events for all ages and at the end of the night there is even a presentation of "Its a wonderful life" This part does cost, but only $5 plus a new toy for "Tualatin Valley Fire Departments Toy and Joy drive" (But, I'm guessing it will be well worth it)

If you have kids ages 5-14 and they aren't excited, tell them that Radio Disney will beon hand and I'm guessing if it is like past events I've went to with them there, they will be giving away some pretty cool prizes!

Now, though the night ends eventually, wouldn't it be nice to wake up and have breakfast with Santa? (Mom, you don't have to cook) For only $5, Washington Square will be having it's annual breakfast with Santa and this is an event that I know your kids will enjoy. My family and I have been going for 6 years now and don't want to miss it. (You do have tobuy tickets in advance, so read about it here)

So, come meet us Friday night at the tree lighting ceremony and then come sit down and have breakfast with Santa and say hi to my family and I.

Look forward to meeting you,

Todd - I call it a Christmas tree lighting ceremony.  Anyone who tries to label it otherwise is too PC.

It is not an electrical illumination of organic matter. BTW trees don't have feelings

The season is Christmas and the celebrations that surround it are wonderful. Cheers to your Christmas celebration and may God Bless Us ... everyone

OK, now I'm worried. My kids normally don't get up until 8am or so. Being home schooled they can do that. But, two of the three are already up because they say they are too excited for tonight. Hope to see a lot of people there tonight as it will be a fun event for all.
