If you're thinking about getting a pet, I'd recommend you adopt rather than buy. When you adopt a little cat or dog not only are you helping rescue groups, animal shelters, or humane societies, but most importantly you are giving them a second chance.
St. Mary's Animal Welfare League (SMAWL) will be holding pet adoptions every 1st and 3rd Saturday at Petco in California, MD from 10am to 2pm. We have a wide variety of wonderful animals looking for a great home like yours. All animals have had a complete veterinary exam, are up to date on all vaccinations, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. The SMAWL staff can also help you with information regarding volunteering, fostering, our low cost rabies clinic and our spay/neuter discount vouchers.
My husband and I just adopted our 3rd pet. We have a black lab that we adopted about 7 years ago and this year we acquired 2 kittens. The small adoption fee is used to feed and house these little guys and like you said give them all their shots and nueter them.....I don't know how they do it, but it's a great way to get a pet.
