Is it too early to think about the "Spring Market"?

I realize it's only early December, But already our office has received over 5 requests this week for comparative market analysis's. This in addition to the report I read this morning saying that the medium home price in Woburn, Massachusetts has risen from $367,962 November 30, 2009 to $370,476 December 6,2009* source Trula Weekly Agent Report*.

Please don't start thinking that every home has increased in value and if I wait til the "Spring" to list my home it will be worth $$$. Yes, you could be right. But let's take a step back and think why did home prices raise from last week to this week. Well, first of all it's simple...Supply vs. Demand. Last weeks  Woburn market had more homes and usually the first week of the month homes are SoLd, Exprire or cancel especially before the holiday season. Leaving us with just under 70 Single Family homes for sale today.

If you want to get a jump on the market and take advantage of the "Buyers Tax Credit Extension" then yes, it's time to take a look around at the competition and how your home stacks up against it. My first suggestion is to start decluttering, this is the perfect time to start. Check back next week for more tips and ideas. Or contact me direct. Happy Holidays
