Do anything Productive today?

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Metropolitan

Just wondering if all you Realtors took the day off, or did anything productive today?

I started my day by going to some area hotels, and distributing some cards on the hotel guest car windows.  I only put them on the out of state cars.  I figure since we are the 15th fastest growing county in America, someone may check out my website, and who knows maybe not like their current Realtor and switch to me.

Then I went home and took the family out to Cracker Barrel for breakfast.  We love CB, do you?

I went home and changed and hit three FSBO's.  Then went to scope out a newer community called  "The Chimneys of Marvin".  Which was closed.

Now we're off to the community pool and a neighborhood fireworks display.

Please let me know if you feel the models should be opened or closed on the 4th of July.  I'll reply later.....my pink inner tube awaits.

If we are here, we are working. Though I am doing some cooking and keeping dry. Believe it or not, it's raining here! Hopefully the fireworks display is not going to be canceled.

Good luck and happy 4th!

Well, I am glad you asked. I read your blog today. LOL

I think models should be open on holidays and should use the opportunity to do something festive like a BBQ and rent a jumping castle for the kids. Does anyone use any creativity or are they only interested in taking the day off??

The family's at Disneyland.  I just took a middle-aged-guy-Willie-Lohman vacation (i.e., a half day nap), and now I'm probably going to hack around on the Internets as usual.

Well, it's supposed to reach 116 degrees here today and it probably will.  I am home praying the AC doesn't give out!

I may go to the mall later.

Hanging around outside more than necessary is not in my plans for today.  :)

Have a happy and safe Fourth of July.  Stay cool.

Many years ago when I first got in the business, I also left my card on car windows. Then I got a couple of callbacks about the dents on their cars and assumed I did it and wanted to know who my insurance was with...............Last time I did that. Not a bad idea to do out-of-state only. If I were to do it again, I would probably do a one-page relo-service flyer and go to the Marriott's that cater to relocatiions (30 to 90 day stays).

I started my day by going over the MLS for some clients, worked on my website then took the family to breakfast.

After that I made several phone calls to clients to wish them a safe and happy 4th of July.  For clients who were not doing anything I gave them some ideas on things in our area to do in case they were interested.

Now the kids are down for a nap and here I am.  Later I am heading to Marina Del Rey for a BBQ and fireworks.

Listening to your Needs

I woke up late and took a shower and got moving before noon. I wrote an offer on one of my listings as the buyer had today off. I received an offer on another one of my kistings where we had a verbal acceptance. My seller lives out of state but was working today as a pharmist in Conn. so I faxed her the offer to sign and send back. Got the deposit check for the selling agent and dropped her off copies. its raining so people are off the streets.

I e-mailed one seller the particulars on the offer and said I would call her in the morning. Got a message from someone from out of town that wanted to look at a French Quarter Condo for up to 500k while they were in town so sent them some choices so we could meet up tommorow. Getting ready to go to my sons house to eat so real estate is over until I turn on the compter again. So its been a busy couple of hours. Eric

Keith, if the models weren't closed today, I'd be at the new home model having unaccompanied Realtors, family of purchasers, and boredom on the 4th of July, instead of having had a wonderful and relaxing day!  No, they shouldn't be open! : )

I started the day by getting up late - 9:00 AM.  Received a counteroffer to an offer that I submitted for some buyers last night, discussed counter with buyers.  Went to a Fourth of July parade, and on the way checked on one of my vacant listings and replenished the flyer box.  Then had lunch at the VFW and got into a conversation with a gentleman who right when I was getting ready to leave indicated an interest in listing about 300 acres of land he owns. So far not a bad day!  Going to see fireworks tonight!

Up at 5 am (my usual time) wrote an offer from the previous day's showings, written and submitted by 10 am,  finished preparing my brisket and banana pudding for the pool party.  Final negotiations by 12 noon, accepted and off to the pool party.  Back to bed at 8pm after a fun in the sun afternoon.  What a great 4th.  Hope yours was as well.
