I listened to SEOs and I dropped my search engine rank!

By
Home Builder with St Louis Home Improvement and Painting Companies

SEO's tell you that <Title> should be 64 to 66 characters

SEO's tell you that <META name="description" contents=  (this area should be 100 characters)

I followed the above and my rank on page 1 dropped immediately when the bots came to my site.

I made another mistake...I spelled the abbreviation for Saint Louis "Stl" instead of "Stl."  (the period was a big item as the

person's search will be exact for top listings.  BE CAREFUL!

YOUR WEBSITE HELPER SHOULD MANUALLY SUBMIT YOUR SITE TO YAHOO AND BING.

WHAT YOU KNOW ABOUT THE WEB IS THAT REALLY THERE ARE NO SECRETS...YOU CAN LEARN FROM YOUR COMPETITOR.

I redid the above and my advice is

<Title> can be 100 characters!

<description> can be 151 characters.

It will take time for my changes to reflect...but I registered again my websites with google, yahoo, and bing.

Things change and you must have someone working for you to watch the changes.

Sonny:  It's so hard to try and keep track of everything yourself.  Sometimes it's a big help having someone who actually knows what they are doing help you.  I wish I did... LOL.

Sonny, its useful to make a few small changes at a time. That way you know what caused the positive or negative change. If you change too many, you won't know what worked and what didn't.
