You might have seen my blog, Focus on the island nation of HAITI that was posted on January 16, 2010. I felt like that was the least I could do, besides making a donation. There was one response to my post, or so I thought.
Lesson learned, never underestimate the the reach of Active Rain.
On Saturday afternoon at 1:02 pm MST I received a call from the 301 area code. As far as I know, I didn't know anyone with that area code, at least, that's what I thought. When I answered the phone, a very familiar voice was on the other end. It was my old college pal, Mario Camilien, whose name I had mentioned in the blog. During his search online for information about Haiti, my blog popped up.
What a great surprise that was. We are planning to meet in the near future, possibly at my son's college graduation. To put this into perspective, we graduated from Fairfield in 1984. We met briefly in 1992, but lost touch with each other, here we are in 2010, reuniting.
