National Association of Realtors report December Sales fell by 17 percent

Most major news outlets are busy reporting the most recent National Association Of Realtors figures that December Sales fell by 17 percent.  Every radio report has cried out the same message, "SALES DOWN 17%". 

Here are the Worcester County Maryland Sales Statistics for December 2009.

The report shows that pending sales on Worcester County are up 93.8% over last December and 18.2 % year over year.

Scott, those NAR stats are of course across the board and many areas may vary substantially. I agree with hating stats though because many take them the wrong way and tend to generalize that sales are down everyplace, which is obviously incorrect. But you know what they say, "Don't kill the messenger." And in the news business they say "Bad new is good news, good news is no news and no news is bad news."
