ReMax Of New England is trying something that has been tried before...unsuccessfully.  That's having small real estate offices in supermarkets.  In this case up to 17 in Stop & Shops across New England.

I like that this idea has been done before and that real estate professionals keep trying even though it never caught on.  Years ago I remember a real estate kiosk in some mall and thinking how odd it looked.  I saw the broker who was "on-duty" there looking out of place and not particularly happy or busy.  My own team tried Saturdays at Costco when Lending Tree was in our area.  I can't say we never got business from it but honestly when I go shopping I want to get away from tax services and CPAs, insurance agents, newspaper subscription agents, and the local cub scout troop.  Girl Scout cookie sales girls might be the exception.

That being said I think our team will partner up once a year...maybe for a month during the cookie selling season...with the girl scouts and sell split-levels and those girl scout brand oreos that split so well with a glass of milk.

Real estate is generally a pretty private transaction and under the flourescent glare of the supermarket lights I don't think much will happen there at Stop & Shop...it hasn't worked in the past...I wish ReMax luck since I truly believe that any positive promotion for our industry anywhere is good for all of us

I'm surprised that I've never seen girl scout cookies being sold at an open house!
