You know you are addicted to Active Rain when you lie awake at night thinking about your next subject to write about... Don't ask me why...but for some reason I started to think about those crazy words you have to "re-write" in the little box below the comment box which is directly below someones blog... I have been collecting them over the past few months thinking there would be a day that I would have enough to write about them. You know words like:
rambutan, abaca, bacae, bakuri, belimbing, carabola, cimarrona, ciku, dasheen, feijoa, harendog, ketembilla lovi-lovi, pummelo makrut mahgusteen, sesnania, shadblow, sorb, sweetsop and walha... What da????
Originally, I was thinking I would make up a story using the strange words I was typing...but my curiosity got the best of me and I decided to start looking up some of the words. Come to find out...most of them are fruits, trees or shrubs...but mostly fruits.
You'll be happy to know that a "jackfruit" is from the mulberry family and has stiff, glossy leaves and edible fruits that can weigh up to 70 pounds! Yikes... Try putting one of those in your lunch box.
Then there's the "sweetsap"...a sweet (duh) pulpy fruit having a thin tuberculate rind (oh how I love tuberulate rinds) and is borne by a tropical American tree or shrub. 
Or...how about the "ketembilla"...a maroon purple pulped fruit that tastes like gooseberries.
Who da thunk that our own Active Rain was so fruity??? Makes you kinda wonder what the AR techies talk about in their weekly meetings. I imagine they were thinking we wouldn't catch on or would even care. HA! Now I know...now we all know...this is a fruit based company.
