HGTV Madeover My Listing!

By
Real Estate Agent with Long & Foster

I have a fabulous townhouse for sale in Silver Spring, Maryland.  It is an end unit, and in the first month we had over 30 showings, talk of offers but nothing was coming in.  The home showed well, the owners maintained the property and followed my suggestions to remove photos, religious items, and declutter.  The home was spotless and always show ready, but it still was missing something.  The property owner loves orange and red tones and made these her accent colors throughout the property.  The kitchen had orange walls & countertops and the carpeting, although newer, was also in the red family.  It was too personalized with these colors and kept some buyers from moving forward.

Luckily, HGTV picked my listing to be featured on Real Estate Intervention.  The HGTV team was phenomenal and madeover the home in a week.  The home now has a contemporary feel and the orange walls are gone!  The kitchen was updated with new cabinet paint,  hardware, and wall color. The dining room and living room received new paint, lighting,  window treatments and furniture to really show off the space.  The home has a completely different feel to it, my seller is very pleased, and traffic has increased since the makeover just days ago.

We had our first open since the improvements were done on Valentine's Day, and it was a fantastic turnout.  Buyers that saw it before returned and were quite happy.  We're currently reviewing multiple offers!

The before and after photos, what a difference!

I love the before and after pictures! How did you get them to do it? I would love it if they did one of mine!  Good luck with it.
