Stella is in the hospital now, taking medication to prevent a heart attack. My wife and I just heard from Stella. Yes, from her hospital bed she wrote:
" Please excuse this long delay to pray you had a most happy, healthy and blessed anniversary. If my records are correct, this is your 40th wedding anniversary. May the years ahead be more blessed for you. The last few weeks have had me in the hospital to avoid a heart attack. The new medications are helping, for which I am grateful. May continued blessings be with you both. Love and prayers, Stella"
Stella is the wife of a former employee of mine. Her husband, Joe has been deceased for about 20 years. She has written to my wife and I every year--for 40 YEARS! Christmas, birthdays, Easter, Anniversary. She never fails.
Each card she sends contain beautiful, loving and encouraging words. Stella is an example worth following.
We are praying for Stella. "Give her more time, Lord. We covet her cards and notes and her prayers and her encouraging words."
I am so remiss in this area. Thankfully, my wife is truly the better half. For me and those like me, there is still time for us to change our ways.
We are all too busy with things that won't matter. The people in are lives do. Don't let friendships fall by the wayside. Following Stella's example is not a bad idea.
