Information from Pitt River Quarries will be given at a public meeting in Pitt Meadows on Wednesday evening about a possible expansion of its operations.
The application by Pitt River Quarries is to expand the quarry to 70.5 hectares from its current 54.7 hectares which would increase production to two million tons per year.
The expansion of the Pitt River Quarries Pitt Meadows mine would come to within 100 metres of the nearest homes.
There will be a representative from the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources at the Pitt Meadows public meeting. Pitt River Quarries will also have new drawings and models of the Pitt Meadows area.
The Pitt Meadows public information meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 3 at Swan-e-set Bay Resort and Country Club from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The country club is located at 16651 Rannie Rd. in Pitt Meadows.
