Rockwall-based Shoe Bank provides help, hope for Haiti
Rockwall Newspaper reports:
By Dawn Redig. NeighborsGo.com.
When Rockwall resident Mike Barringer founded The Shoe Bank in 1989, his nonprofit's mission was a simple one - to provide shoes for a few hundred homeless men in downtown Dallas.
Twenty years later, Barringer still works from his home office, single-handedly managing The Shoe Bank's daily operations. But his efforts provide relief for more than 20,000 needy people across the globe each year - most of them children.
So my thoughts are if you have shoes that dont fit, are out of style, almost worn out, your kids have tons of shoes that are small or they dont work... TAKE THEM TO THE SHOE BANK!
What a great way and inexspensive way to help others!!!
Thanks Rockwall and surrounding, you are such a giving community!!!
