You borrowed more money than you knew your house was worth. You stopped making your mortgage payments 5 months ago and are living rent free. When I ask you for the paperwork your bank requires so I CAN SAVE YOU FROM FORECLOSURE AND GETTING KICKED OUT OF YOUR HOUSE, you are too busy. When potential buyers want to see your house, it is not convenient or when I show your home, it looks like a bomb went off. You are going to wind up on the street with ruined credit and will tell everyone you are a "victim" of the system. Sorry-I don't feel sorry for you.

Amen, Nancy! I'm sure there are some homeowners who really did get hit with some unforeseen obstacle -- a health care emergency or a sudden job loss. But most of these people got in over their head and now won't do anything to help. And I don't feel that it is our job to help them. Let the bank foreclose, then find a buyer who wants a great deal on an REO home.
