Plastic who would have known.  We have been told for years about it, but I guess you don't really believe it until you really see it.    Let's pay ATTENTION!!

This is Truly Sad

I recently have been reading more and more about this leviathan between the Hawaian and U.S. This mass of plastic that is estimated to be twice the size of the State of Texas is comprised of water bottles, shopping bags, and most anything plastic. This floating trash pile is visable to the naked eye which makes it a huge eyesore, but more importantly is threatening the marine life that is feeding off of it, and the humans that are eating that marine life. Compounds such bisphenol A and polystyrene are showing up in larger and larger amounts in the fish caught in the ocean and used for human consumption.

Check out the accompanying video report for futher information.

It is so important that people become aware of this situation, it has certainly made me think twice about my plastic use and disposal.

If you or somebody you know would appreciate my services, please contact me with their information and I will be happy to help them.

We need a big container ship to go out and pick up all the stuff. Maybe Bill Gates, Jobs, Buffet, and others with deep pockets could put that project together.

I showed this story to my daughter a few months ago. She said, "Why don't people just throw their stuff away where it belongs." The only thing I could tell her is that, "Common sense is not that common."

What a mess!  We are such polluters!  Does anybody have an idea of what it would take to clean that up? I see you only have about 9000 more points, keep it up!
