The new htc Droid Incredible from Verizon Wireless is set to be released on Thursday, April 29th.  You can preorder yours from Verizon's website now.  Heres the cool thing - you can buy the Nexus One from A.T. & T. (a great phone without a doubt) which is also made by htc but you'd pay $529 and get less.  The Incredible really is incredible:  8 megapixel camera, 8 GB on-board memory AND support for up to a 16 GB SD card, a 1GHz snapdragon processor, Android 2.1, 3.7" AMOLED touchscreen, etc.  In other words, it's basically the latest and greatest of everything.

So what would you pay as an early adopter of this incredible smartphone?  How about $199 for a two year contract.  Here's the really cool news for Verizon customers who have a "new every two" in their back pocket:  when I ordered mine online yesterday, I received an additional $100 discount so I only paid $99.  This truly is incredible and now I'll be able to easily access my AR blog, facebook, twitter, YouTube and everything else I've been learning about at RainCamp and elsewhere on my INCREDIBLE phone.  I can't wait until next Thursday.  Here's a preview for you:

what applications would you think that a Realtor can use with Droid? I have tried the Droid tried it and returned within my 30day trial. I have been using Palm Treo 700Wx and it was difficult to use the Droid, I see now the new Droid Incredible and I wonder for us Realtors what applications are there in the Market Place.

I'm not sure if there are any Realtor-specific apps but the google maps integration with the turn by turn directions would be good for finding homes you're showing clients as would the access to the social media sites like facebook and twitter.  You could also take video of a home you have listed and post it on YouTube right away or if you have a long-distance client you can take video of a house and email it or post it to YouTube.  You can also take pictures for the MLS with this - no more carrying a separate camera.  Just a few thoughts for you.

Steve - It is a great phone and I was lucky enough to get it two days before it was actually launched.  I have loved it and it does have lots of great stuff for mortgage and real estate professionals.  I find it a bit funny that you don't want to switch to Verizon from AT&T - most people I know who have AT&T would switch to Verizon in a heartbeat if it weren't for the fact that Verizon doesn't (didn't) have the iPhone (or comparable) until now. Check it out.  Have a great day.

You may also want to look at Sprint - probably not quite as cheap, but the 4G htc EVO is coming out June 4th and it can be a 4G hotspot along with having a 4.3 inch screen, 4G speeds for web browsing and an HDMI video output at 720p resolution.  All of the other stats are almost identical to the Droid Incredible except that it doesn't have 8 GB of internal memory like the Droid Incredible.  Great phone, though.  Whichever Google-based android phone you end up with will be nice - htc makes a great phone and the Android OS is great as well.

I bought the HTC Incredible and it's a great phone, but I can't get on to my MLS  site.  It bumps me off the internet and back to my home screen.  Here's the address:

https://csstrong.mris.com/platinum/idp/authrequest

Any other Realtors from Northern VA having the same problem?  My colleague has the Droid by Motorola and he can log on fine.  Just HTC phones.  I spoke to HTC, and of course they blame it on MRIS.  I spoke to MRIS and they said there is no issue on there end.  Any feedback would be helpful.

Thanks,

Wayne
