A Snooze Button for Microsoft Outlook

I came across this interesting add-in for Outlook that could help most of us manage our inbox a little better. Boomerang helps you manage messages that you can't deal with today, but that need attention or a response later. Basically it adds an email snooze button to Microsoft Outlook. Now you clean up your Inbox without losing track of important messages.

Boomerang lets you “focus on Emails that matter now.” So if I get a message about a meeting one week from now, and I get that feeling I’m going to lose it in the Email waterfall, I can just plug in a return time (lets go with a day before the meeting), and Boomerang will throw it back, marked as unread, on that date. Messages marked for return stay out of your way in the “Boomerang Folder,” so that you can hold off on responding or deleting, while still keeping your inbox at zero. They offer a free 14 day trial to see if it is effective for you. If you love it, it's only $14.95.

Hi Laura ~ I could definitely see the value in Boomerang. My inbox is overwhelming.  But ha!! I don't think I'll ever see an inbox at zero - mine's at 4-5K I think - and I worked hard to get it down to that.

I understand Liz. Just like any good paper filing system, I have created many folders in Outlook and try to "file" my emails each day. I will add a flag to those that need following up and also create rules for others I want "filed" automatically. So even though I still have the same amount of emails in my Outlook, at least they are somewhat organized so I can easily find and follow up on them when they are needed and my inbox seems manageable.
