Your Life Can Be Anything That You Can Dream. Dare To Dream Big!
ActiveRain is an interesting cross section of the real estate industry. Realtors®, lenders, insurance agents, inspectors and the like, all gather to share ideas, tips, and tricks. The experience levels of the group range from people who measure their tenure in decades to those who measure it by the day. There is so much to learn here. There is so much to teach.
In a previous life as a advertising and marketing director with a Fortune 500 company, I was working on an ad campaign to encourage people to take more pictures in their everyday life. (Can you guess where I worked?) Our tagline was "Life is a story. Tell it well." Although our campaign never was launched, that slogan has stuck with me through the years. To me it has always meant that we can be as big as we dare to dream. So many people out there don't dream big enough!
How big is your dream?
This is the fastest sailboat in the world. l' Hydroptere and its crew broke the wind/water speed record by traveling 51.36 knots in only 28 knots of wind! If that doesn't seem so fast to you, stop the consider that this boat is almost 60 feet long, weighs 6.5 tons, and is only powered by the wind! The original design team started the project in 1975. Only 34 years later they shattered the speed record. They dared to dream big. Bigger than anyone had dreamed before them. Imagine what their friends and family thought when the first shared their idea in 1975?! Can you say "What's the number to the funny farm? I wonder what they think now.
What are you dreaming about? Selling a home a week for the next year? 2 years? Why not 5? Why not 5 homes a week for 5 years straight? There are people out there who are doing it. Why not you?
Don't limit yourself to real estate. Maybe you dream of something entirely different. How can you change the world in a big way? Let you mind go with it. Dream big.
Of course, those who dream big, fail big. Don't be discouraged. Learn from your mistakes and keep moving forward. What would have happened if the crew had quit after this little set back?
