Legend Homes was one of the biggest builders around, and like many others, fell on hard times when the housing market bubble burst. After two years of reorganizing in bankruptcy court, Legend Homes has gotten much smaller and is ready to reinvent Oregon's home building industry.
One way that Legend will be doing things better is by building green. For example, they will be adding solar panels to their Edgewater subdivision in Tigard. Legend will guarantee to purchasers of Edgewater homes that in the first three years their combined gas and electricity bill will not exceed $58 a month, or Legend will cover the difference. Perhaps now is the perfect time for reinvention.
