Hendersonville NC -- Strawberries Are In at McConnell's!

Hendersonville NC -- Strawberries Are In at McConnell's!  My husband and I read in the Times-News that McConnell's now have their fantastic Chandler berries which are reminescent of my growing up in PA and picking strawberries in our garden that my step-father cultivated.  Oh my, my mom would tell me in the morning that if I would go pick the berries she would make shortcake for them!!

McConnell's berries are sweet, juicy and so tasty.  A delight to the taste buds.  The Times-News article said due to the fall and winter weather this would not be a block buster year for the berries and if you wanted to have some come and get them while they lasted.

For those not familiar with McConnell's Farm they are located at 177 Old Dana Road in Dana.  They can be reached at 828-692-2819 and are now open Mondays through Saturdays at 9 AM until Sold Out.

You can visit the online version of the Times-News article by James Shea.

Well my sweet hubby went to visit McConnell's and you can see some of our berries.  Oh my, they are so delicious.

Oh, my.  Fresh strawberries with a dollop of whipped cream or sprinkled with Splenda are my absolute favorite sweet treat, Sue.  Those photos look scrumptuous, too.  I have a client who lives and works in Hendersonville.  You live in a spectacular area.

We love it here.  And those berries -- spectacular!!  I love to plop some in cereal and can enjoy the berries plus strawberry milk.  We cleaned a bunch of those berries today.  Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

When I was little, my mom used to take me out to pick strawberries.  I think I ate more than went into the pail!

Yes Kerry, sounds like a great and delicious memory.  We used to have pick the bing cherries off our neighbors tree.  Oh my, those for some good times.

Hi Janice -- these strawberries are yum, yum on steroids.  They are grown especially for our climate here and produce exceptional sweet, juicy and large size succulent fruit.  My hubby likes to mix them with rhubarb and freeze them -- also very great tasting.

Thanks for stopping by.

Yum, those berries look so good.  Ours aren't usually ready til late June but we've had lots of sun and high temps so I think they will be early.  Can't wait.

Hi Jenny,

Oh were they ever yummy!  Due to our abnormally severe winter our strawberry season will be shortened and only expected to last for another couple of weeks.
