I've spent my fair share of time in that tiny bathroom, bedroom, actually entire apartment. The biggest problem is generally storage. This also presents the problem of creating uncluttered spaces that give the illusion of a larger area. Where do you store all those bathroom supplies that nobody wants to see, nor do you have room on the counter for them? There are a couple of solutions to this problem that can help make the space look not only more roomy, but warm and inviting as well! Here are a few ideas:
-Stay away from dark, bold colors. Stick with the warm neutrals. You can add that extra color splash with other accent pieces.
-Floating shelves are a wonderful solution for hiding away those unsightly items and looking pretty snazzy too!
-Glass and other reflective surfaces (mirrors) do a great job of creating the illusion that spaces are larger. If you have a full bath with shower, glass doors can really aid in creating a more spacious looking and feeling room.
-Get ride of the clutter. If you must throw things in something, invest in some stylish baskets. You can use these on open shelving to make things look more organized than they really are. who couldn't use a little more of that in their life?
These are only a few of the ideas out there for maximizing the space in your home, no matter how big or small. Maximize the opportunity to live in our homes at College Station Homes or Lakeway Homes!
