Some Fantastic Design Tips That Make Life (and you) More Comfortable

1.

The bathroom sink should not be any higher than 38 inches for comfort.

2.        In case you want to use an existing table as your workspace, the typical

desk height is 29 inches for comfort.

3.                        For a comfortable look, the drapery rod should be mounted a minimum of 2

inches above the window. For full-looking drapes, the fabric width should be

2.5X the window width. Puddle the drapes at the bottom for a more formal look.

(In Burlington, Ontario...visit InVu Drapery on Caroline Street for all your

                                                         drapery needs.

4.                     Area Rugs placed under dining room tables should extend 2 feet past (length and

width) the dining room table measure   ment. The chairs, once pulled out, should

still  have it's front legs on the carpet.

5.      If changing up chairs to put with your

table, the distance between the tabletop

and chair seat should be 8 inches.

Trish..more than happy to share! Zoom-Zoom :)

Betty and Kathleen...I always used to think that I could "eyeball" it....like cooking...why measure?? But it's exactly what Kathleen had said--people LOVE it when you have these numbers memorized..despite an eye-check or "body-feel"..it does make a person very credible!
