For the first time in years I will be making 2 trips to Maryland to see my family. I haven't spent a Memorial weekend there since College. I will be heading back for the 4th of July yippy! I sure miss home.

If you go you must eat at either Stoney's Crab House or Calypso's Crab house where we were.
Debbie, how far are both those place from Washington DC. As you know I was there over Memorial Day Weekend, I would have loved to have eaten at one of them if they were withing a reasonable distance.

Hubby's fams is from Maryland. I have personally never been but would like to go to taste some of those world famous crabs!

Debbie, that looks like lots of fun...... The last time I visited my hometown was to bury my dad. I have a feeling I will not visit there again ever, even for a High School reunion.

Solomons Island is not that far from DC, a 2-3 Hours at best. My family home is south on 301 near the south of Waldorf near the Patomac River Bridge, Near my home is another great seafood place on Cobb Island, (Captain John's), there are many on near the Chesapeak as well.
Wish I had known you were there we could have met at one of those Crab Houses. Maybe next time we can show you and your wife a few local sites.
Near Lexington is Solomon's Island.

Renee, What part of Maryland? I actually Graduted in VA in Fairfax county but Maryland is our third generation home. You must make a trip out and have the world famous blue crab, early fall is best midsummer to early fall is peak season.
Karen, I had every intention of setting that up this last trip but I brought my boyfriend and we did a lot of site seeing. Hopefully in July. First time I visited my father's grave at Arlington over the Memorial weekend as well, very moving.
Alexander, I fully understand, my family is all back there and I sure miss them. I buried my father as well there 16 years ago.
Debbie, I would like that. Maybe the next time I will do a better job of making it know that I am down there.
