Janna Rankin Scharf, GRI, CLHMS, SFR - Coeur d'Alene Parks Day Celebration July 10 at Sunshine Meadows and The Landings. FREE food and fun!
Parks Day in Coeur d'Alene, ID began in 2008 after a Parks Master Plan survey disclosed that many Coeur d'Alene residents didn't know the location or amenities available at many of our area's beautiful parks.
On July 10, both Sunshine Meadows Park and The Landings Park will be the sites of a full state of activities and entertainment. These are relatively new parks, and both are large, beautifully landscaped and full of features for young and old.
Head over to Sunshine Meadows Park for a 9 a.m. FREE pancake breakfast. Following breakfast, there will be an inflatable castle, bicycle safety course, Art on the Edge, Bubbles the Clown, horseshoes, volleyball, tetherball. Entertainment will be provided by fiddlers Arvid Lundin and Dave Beach, and the Kootenai County Dog Park Association will hold a dog contest!
As if that's not enough fun for one day, there will also be balloons, sack races, HAM radio demos, and a concert by students from the Cd'A Rock School!
After you have worked up an appetite from a full day of celebration at Sunshine Meadows Park, head over to The Landings Park for their 5:00 p.m. dedication. Following the dedication, the Lions Club will be serving a FREE hot dog dinner.
And then, more fun and games will be happening at The Landings Park. Another bicycle safety course as well as bicycle tune-ups, crafts, the inflatable castle, sack races, sports booths, tennis and a splash pad! Entertainment will be provided by Jazz Northwest and the Youth Marimba Band. Munch on some FREE Dutch-oven kettle corn while you watch the FREE movie that will begin in the park dusk.
Now THAT is what is called a FULL day!
This is certainly a day you won't need to listen to
your kids saying "I'm bored, there's nothing to do!"
