Nestled between Green Lake and Lake Union, Interstate 5 and Highway 99 (Aurora) is the delightful neighborhood of Wallingford.  Around every corner is a surprise with many beautifully remodeled bungalow style homes or uniquely built townhouses, welcoming you to live in the neighborhood.

 

This neighborhood's name come from early real estate developer, John Wallingford.

 

IrwinsAlthough there are many businesses spread throughout Wallingford, (Irwin's, on the left, is a charming coffee house located on 40th and Bagley), the core of Wallingford has loads of unique businesses including Seattle's all time favorite hamburger, Dicks, originally built in 1954.  The Guild 45Schoolhouse, one of Seattle's oldest theaters is also on 45th Street as well as the old schoolhouse which is home to many small businesses like Trophy's Cupcakes and nice loft-style apartments on the top floor.

 

 

The Burke Gilman Trail weaves through the south side boundary where there Rachel's Vieware fantastic views of the Seattle skyline and Lake Union.  Gas Works Park is also located here; it is 19 acres and named after the gas manufacturing plant which closed in 1956.  This is a great place to view fireworks on the FOurth of July!

 

Recently, Wallingford 2 bedroom homes have been selling from $360,000 - $520,000; 3 bedrooms from $380,000 - $800,000; and 4 bedrooms from $420,000 - $875,000.
