Are REI Clubs worth it?

Now there are a lot of different angles on these clubs. Please keep in mind that most people are trying to get business out of the clubs, whether they are actual investors (short term or long), vendors (lenders, Insurance, Realtors, Inspectors, etc.), speakers, and well.....so on.

Your experience is a welcomed topic. Any success or failure that you can share will show others how to succeed!

Thank you,

For the most part the clubs never last...if you have a group of people interested in doing this then form an LLC and have all of the members contribute to the cost and expense and then share equally in the profits on a per share basis. The real investors will pay up the interested seekers will walk away but you are more productive without them.

Investors can be great, or they can be a real pain in the butt.  Many tend to be a lot more talk than action, and many think that low-ball isn't EVER low enough.

But, a good investor is well worth the time it takes to find him.  Consistent transactions, and comfort.

REI clubs can be a good place to network. The hard part is finding the 30% of people that are in attendance that aren't a realtor, title person, loan person, etc.

Here in KC, I prefer MAREI over KCIG.  Just me.  But I don't go to either very often.
