Usually Wednesday is one of my "Big Blog Post" days, as are Monday and Friday as well. However, today was a Wednesday that by rights should have been a Monday! It had all the hallmarks of what causes Mondays to be one of the most loathed and maligned days of the week. Why? Unfortunately for you, I'm about to tell you.
Reasons why today should have been a Monday:
A)My 4 year old is still sick and it has moved into her chest, meaning I was up half the night trying to ease her coughing and therefore I overslept.
B) At about noon-ish I realized that we were having friends over for dinner and I had nothing to feed them. A hasty run to the grocery store ensued, hampered by road construction and the realization that I had a DVD that was due at the library(those little boogers will eat you alive in library fines!), which my hubby had managed to somehow take with him to the office, which is (of course) the total opposite direction of the store.
C) While frantically shopping for dinner, with a sick and EXTREMELY cranky baby girl in tow, I get a text from the friends coming for dinner. Or rather not coming as their little boy is sick. . . probably from hanging around with my daughter, though they were kind enough not to mention it.
D) If you think dealing with clients is sometimes a pain, you should try putting a very cranky, sick 4 year old to bed. . . especially when they don't want to go. And while doing that I came to the realization that her cough now is sounding "wet" which means a trip to the doctors office, which just so happens to be pretty much the only thing she hates more than going to bed.
E) To top everything off I realized that I had not done even a little bit of work today. . . including the blog post I was supposed to have put up.
So what is the exact purpose for this rather random jumble of hardships? I'm sorry my usual chipper self is momentarily absent and I'll try to do better next time. My daughter is usually a absolute joy to be around (and I'm not just saying that because I'm her mother:) I suppose my point is that even blatant optimists have an off day once in a while. So go on, have your off day! It's good for you ......every once in a while. ;)
