Here's a news flash you probably didn't think you'd get today...frogs squeal. I ain't talkin about croaking or grunting...I'm talkin squeal...like a pig or a bird in distress. I was out planting a rose bush while my chickens were peckin and scratchin around me when I heard this incredible squeeeeeeeeeeeeal come from the porch. I immediately thought that one of our new little baby birds had fallen from the nest...but much to my surprise it was a frog squealin his lungs out...mainly due to the fact that there were three chickens surrounding him...eyeing him for some good eatin.
I shoo'd the chickens away and went back to my digging and thought..."Hmmm...I guess frogs squeal when they have something important to say...like, "Oh my gosh...I'm about to be eatin by three giant chickens!" Then I thought..."There must be a lesson in this somewhere. I wonder if God trying to tell me something..." I'm sure if my husband could read my thoughts from his studio he'd be screamin (or squealin)..."Hello....maybe a little less talk and a lot more content!" Then I thought..."Nah...that can't be it. Everything I say is important...".
Then as I pondered it some more I thought...how nice that the Lord would give a frog a squeal to help protect him from danger. Maybe the lesson is...God doesn't give us anything we can't handle. He has given each of us unique abilities to face whatever situation we are in. Our job is to use the resources He's given us. There will be times that we need to squeal...and sometimes we just need to keep quiet. Yes...that must be it...
Oh...all right... Maybe there's one more ittby bitty lesson in there. It's not how much you say...but what you say that counts. That's for you, hon. So...nuf said...right?
