The Homebuyer Tax Credit extended again

by Holly Pring on August 1, 2010

Happy news: Congress has passed a bill extending the Homebuyer Tax Credit closing deadline to September 30, 2010. The extension applies to transactions that had ratified contracts in place as of April 30, 2010, and have not yet closed.

Congress, bless ‘em, also extended the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) through September 30th. The bill is retroactive and will cover the lapse period from June 1, 2010, to the date the law is enacted.

If you qualify, enjoy that credit!

This will help the buyers of short sales that take long for approval.

Absolutely, this already did help two of my closings which went beyond the original deadline of June 30th.  I definitely feel many more will benefit as well. Have a great day. Thank you for sharing your comments...

I am so hopeful that there are no Realtors or lenders that try to abuse the extension.  If they do, they need their licenses revoked and a stiff fine.  This was desperately needed, as it was most likely no fault of the Buyer that the extension was needed.
