Those are great pics Sarah. I hope your friend was using a really good zoom and wasn't as close as it appears. ;-)
These would be great pictures to share in the Photography Group as well.
Ciao!
Pete - I've heard that, too. We're having a drought, might be harder for them to find food.
Maggie - Play dead?! I don't think I could either! Eeek!
Aziz - I'm not sure, but not too far. It took them a while to get the camera out. It was a Mom and baby, but I don't know which that is in the picture. Doesn't look too big, but it's hard to tell.
Jon - They are hunters, I am not. My friend's husband, who actually had the camera, is a pretty big guy. I got my car stuck in a ditch one time and he helped me get out -- by LIFTING the car up while I was in it. No lie.
Sally - That may be the baby, I don't know. I would keep my distance, but I'm glad they were brave enough to take the pictures!
Sue - They're probably having to travel more to find food, if you're having a drought like we are.
Irina - Thanks, I thought so, too!
Mary - Well, they don't roam free around here much -- these pics were taken in a different part of the state.
Jennifer - I just joined and added them! Thanks! :o)
Laurie - She is brave and insane in equal measure -- and I love her to death for it!
Tom - LOL!! Good thing they didn't get THAT picture.
Sarah... there were rumors of Black Bears on Turner Road in Grafton this summer. I thought I saw it the morning I went to get sunset pictures, sitting by Wickwire creek. By the time I pulled around to get a better look "it" was in the water, swimming. It could have been a Beaver. Both would be very rare to see in Grafton. She's very lucky to have caught those pictures. I'm SO jealous!
Jeff - She said they fumbled with finding the camera, thought they would totally miss that -- I'm so glad they got it! I told her that's the closest I want to be to a black bear, having my best friend get a picture. ;o)
Donna - I see deer, turkey, raccoons and ground hogs A LOT. In fact, I'm getting tired of near misses with deer while I'm driving. <Knock on wood>
Lysa - You brave girl, you! I am not that much of an adventurer!
Barbara-Jo - I'm with you, seeing them at the zoo is fine!
