"Keep NC Clean & Green"

Recycling Information for the Raleigh/ Cary/ Apex Area.

Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. It's a great idea, and we hear it all the time.
But sometimes, we just need some more information on what we can recycle, when recyclables are picked up, and where we can go for those items which are not part of the recycling program.

Please note that these links are for homeowners who have city services.
For those homeowners who are under county jurisdiction, please check with your sanitation company for more details.

NC Recycles!

The following video is a very powerful "documentary" about the importance of recycling.
And, even though it's about plastics in California, the message rings true no matter where you live.

Hi Craig, great video and thanks for the recycling do's and don'ts reminder.  Makes me think taxing the plastic bag at the store is not a bad thing to fund cleaning up the environment.  Better yet to reduce.

Craig, Great post and video.  I remember riding cross country in the late 80's and in many locations, it did not matter what state, there were the dark trash bags on the side of the road, in a tree, on a fence, in a field with crops....they blended in but they were there and are probably still there.

What a great way to show why recycling is so important Craig! And why not just stop using those rediculous plastic bags completely? Anyway.. this is a great post to share with your community Craig. Providing recycling phone numbers should be part of all of our closing packets! LOL I think I just might have to include this video in the post about Reno being Green that I am working on, you know the post, the one you helped me with the picture! Thanks again for your help and congrats on this featured blog!

Stephanie - If I've inspired you to post a blog about recycling, then my mission was accomplished!

Amy - Thanks Amy! I thought this video was nothing short of brilliant. It inspired me to craft a blog around it.

Debra - I did say I would send you something....Email me an address you want it sent to and I'll get it in the mail this week!

Dale - Taxing those plastic bags might not be such a bad idea Dale.

Sheldon - Ahhh, the natural predator of the plastic bag...the viscious and evil tea cup Yorkie!

Claude - If it opens one person's eyes Claude, then all I can say is, "Mission Accomplished".

Gloria - Sadly, Gloria, those plastic bags are still there where you saw them. Thank you for re-blogging this. I hope it resonates with the folks in your neck of the woods too.

Terrie - I think you should include this video in your Green Reno blog! I'm looking forward to seeing that one. And, no need for thanks. You know I'd do anything to help out a friend.

Jon - I thought the message was so powerful and the video was nothing short of brilliant. I had to share it.

Michael - You're a busy man Michael. Would I waste your time with a lame video? I think not!

Bill - Slow day in the office Bill?!!!! Kidding aside, I'm glad you watched the video. It's a good one.

Hi Craig, this is a great post and the video is the best I have seen.  I prefer the paper bags at the store and you always get a strange look from the store employee if you dare ask for something other than plastic.  I always get the paper bags recycled or I will use those cloth bags that they are now selling.  Great post for everyone!

Debra - There are just some things in life that you don't joke about:

Death.

Other people's kids.

Deformities.

Debra Walsh's love for Bon Jovi!

Yes, I'll send it to you! It's no big deal. Black t-shirt with a little "local crew - Bon Jovi tour 2003" logo on the front. I know you'll appreciate it a lot more than I have. It's been sitting folded in a drawer since the day I got it. I've never worn it and I'm pretty sure it was new when I got it. Of course you'll have to blog about it complete with pictures and a title something to the effect of "Why Craig Rutman is the coolest thing since sliced bread!"
