The 70th Annual chester County Day is set for Ocotber 2, 2010 and begins at 10 am. Visit www.chestercountyhospital.org for more information. The annual house tour is always a hit, this year featuring Pine Creek Mills, with several buildings built in the late 1700s! All proceeds benefit Chester County Hospital.

The Malvern Fall Festival for the Arts and Paws in the Park is a "pupular" :-) annual event that takes place on October 3, 2010 from 10 - 5.

PUMPKIN CARVING is hot competition around here and fun for the whole family. Check out the Chadds Ford Great Pumpkin Carve  on October 23, 2010. Longwood Gardens has an annual weigh-in where the biggest pumpkins are more than 1,000 pounds! No info yet on their date and timing, but check www.Longwoodgardens.org for updates, it usually happens early-ish in the month.

Farmers Daughter Farmer's Market in Spring City hosts their annual Fall Fest on October 9 & 10, 2010 from 10 - 6. Go for the hayrides, scarecrow making, and wonderful produce!

PARADES are fun for everyone and two local parades have garnered quite a following. The West Chester parade is October 28 in the evening and is replete with floats and marching bands. Kids can line the streets, Mardi Gras style, and wait/hope for candy to be thrown from the floats! The Malvern parade hasn't been posted yet, but check here for updates.

CORN MAZES are also in vogue! The Olszanowksi Farm in Kennett Square has a corn maze, hayrides, bonfires on Fridays and Saturdays, and a huge pumpkin patch. You can even walk the maze by moolight, one of their most popular offerings. The Marlborough Valley corn maze is enormous, you can see a picture of it and get more details here. They also offer Terror Hollow - haunted hayrides, haunted woods, and a flashlight maze for adults and older kids. Hurricane Hill Farm in West Brandywine also has an annual corn maze; check their site for updated details to come.

Venture into Philadelphia and head to Fitler Square for the Rosenbach Museum's annual Halloween Party for Families! It takes place on Ocotber 23, 2010 from 3 - 5 and it's FREE! Face painting, pumpkin hunting, spooky music and crafts.

The Main Line Art Center sponsors Monster Mash on October 30, 2010 from 2:30 - 4:30. This celebration includes making masks, mobiles, and face painting. A healthy snack is also included.

On October 18, 2010 from 12 - 2, The HandWork Studio in Narberth will offer it's annual Halloween workshop of crafts.

Borders Books hosts it's annual Halloween Spooktacular with games, a costume parade, scary stories, free cookies, and other activities. Check their site for upcoming date and time.

The Philadelphia Zoo hosts Boo at the Zoo on October 16 & 17, from 10 - 4. It's their annual masquerade party for the whole family, featuring music, games, crafts, treats & sweets, spooky stories, and more.
