As some of you know, the educational themed playground "Fun Forest" at Chesapeake City Park was set on fire by arsonists about 6 months ago. After that happened, the playground was entered into the Sears "More Green Across America" campaign. The playground ended up winning the contest and will receive a $30,000 makeover which will be done on Oct. 9th.
The Sears crew, along with help from the city of Chesapeake and volunteers will plant a new plaza entry area, walkway, gateway, signage and butterfly garden.
The project is part of a master plan to replace the burned out section of the park. Financing for the project will come from donations and fundraisers.
