Reading Barbara Chatterton's post about the Wisconsin REALTORS® Association annual convention got me wondering. The state association in Minnesota does not hold a convention because, according to staff, there is not enough interest. It seems strange that the Mississippi and St. Croix Rivers can create that much diversity of interest levels. It must be something in the water. I don't know how many agents constitute interest, but there are enough agents interested in North Dakota to have a state convention. It doesn't seem logical that a state association with a significantly larger membership than either WI or ND does not have the membership interest to warrant a state convention.
I don't know which state associations hold conventions and which don't. Is there some inverse factor that makes it impractical for larger states with larger memberships to hold conventions?
