U.S. OPEN KING MACKEREL TOURNAMENT

We are experiencing such heavy rains this week, the U.S OPEN KING MACKEREL TOURNAMENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED

THE NEW DATES ARE

OCTOBER 15 ~ 17, 2010

10 AM

SOUTHPORT MARINA SOUTHPORT, NC

A 30 year tradition continues

Nearly 500 boats are expected to compete

Vie for more than $100,000 in CASH prizes

No minimum number of boats required

Captain Charlie's Kids Fishing Tournament, for kids 16 and younger, takes place Saturday
October 16, 2010 8:30am to 12:00pm

Shriners Fish Fry (YUMMY!) -- Saturday October 16 from 3:00pm ~ 7:00pm Cost is $7 per plate.

Even if you don't fish it's fun to see the boats come in each day with their catch. And the charming village of Southport, NC is always a great place to visit!

Tish, wouldn't you know it? We've had almost no rain for weeks and weeks but this Thursday is my golf tournament (Yes, since I have nothing else to do, I agreed to coordinate this tournament.) but of course, rain. Finally, RAIN! I will not complain. I will not complain.

Linda ~ What's not to love about a fish fry! Which canal?

Marian ~ We've really needed the rain and I certainly don't mind if it rains for a day or two, but this torrential downpour which just runs off and then starts again really isn't exactly my cup of tea. So sorry about your golf tournament, but then the greens will certainly be greener from natural causes. Happy thoughts, happy thoughts!!

Gail ~ Rain, rain everywhere. While we certainly needed the rain, the torrential downpours weren't exactly what we needed. Quite a bit of flooding here, causing some damage; however, we do have quick runoff with these sandy soils. The Tournament will go on, just a bit later.
