365 things to do in Worcester County - have a meal at Val's Restaurant in Holden. As I am writing this blog, I am considering if I really want to promote Val's as one of my 365 things to do in Worcester County. I mean I went there with the best intention of blogging about the restaurant. I mean the food has been really, I mean really good. The restaurant changed over the menu a few years ago and since then the quality of cuisine has improved exponentially.
But unforutunately the service was less than mediocre. And for some reason it gets progressively worse as the time for the check approaches. The biggest complaint is the empty drinking glasses. Of course the fact that the waitress couldn't be found to pick up the credit card, did not help matters either. What gets me is that we were there at 4:00 pm and there were very few patrons.
I am in the service business and I believe that if I were a waitress, I can do a better than average job. I mean how hard is it to look at a table and realize that there is a set of silver wear missing of the glass is almost empty? I'm not venting, ok, I am. But here I was ready to recommend Val's as one of my 365 things to do in Worcester County and they provide less than adequate service.
But the food is really good and the embiance and the convenient location are pluses as well. I have had several of their sea food dishes, and they have always been "melt in your mouth" outstanding. In the evening, I have found that Val's offers live music.
So I'm going to leave this up to you. You can decide if you want to experience this as one of your 365 things to do in Worcester County - have a meal at Val's Restaurant in Holden
