Mike,

I heartily endorse your recommendation for Hickory.  I grew up in Charlotte, went to school in Chapel Hill, owned a business in Marion and taught some classes in Morganton at the community college.  It is a beautiful area with much to offer.  Though I live in Washington now (the Columbia River Gorge area is also beautiful), visiting North Carolina still feels like going "home".

I agree. Hickory is a beautiful place to live. I used to come to Hickory to visit family, and I thought it was such a great place to live that my wife and I decided to move here.

Thanks for the comment.
