Amendment 3 in Missouri PASSED!!!

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Gundaker-St. Louis, MO

I am happy to report that Amendment 3 passed by a landslide margin.  Diligent efforts by the Missouri Association of Realtors resulted in a positive result on Election Day Tuesday, November 2.  Thankfully, we will NEVER have a transfer tax on real estate sales in the State of Missouri!  While it was a confusing ballot issue due to it's wording, Missourians took the time to read the initiative and realized that a Yes Vote meant saying NO to new taxes.  Way to go Missouri!!!!

Ahhhh, if NH could follow suit.  We have no sales or income tax but we collect elsewhere. Property tax and "transfer " tax. $15.00/1000 of sales price split 50/50 between buyer and seller.

I wish our state could figure this out, but they keep trying. Let's see if we can get the feds to figure that we want to keep the mortgage interest tax deduction in place.
