Spring Ahead, Fall Back.
We all learned this little ditty as young children. This is the weekend to Fall Back (November 7, 2010).
At two a.m. on the first Sunday in November, we set out clocks back one hour (most people just do it before they go to bed).
It is also a great time to check some other household items:
- Smoke detector batteries
- Carbon monoxide detector batteries
- Shut off your outside water and winterize hoses
- Set up an appointment to have the sprinkler system winterized or do it yourself
- Check your alarm system
- Schedule your semi-annual HVAC check up
- Check to make sure your dog's invisible fence is working properly
Twice a year, Congress has given us a day to adjust our clocks. By tying some household tasks that need to be done on a regular schedule to these days, we can all make sure we get all these important things done!
