ALERT!  We have received reports that members have been attacked at vacant properties.  Please take precautions when entering and exiting a vacant property.  Please report any suspicious behavior to Metro. That's the message from GLVAR that all agents continue to receive.

How many states are experiencing our issues?  I have started taking my dogs along with me when I go to some of the vacant properties.  They are just little dogs but can sense danger or strangers.  I'm not fond of the idea of walking into a property and getting attacked.

We have so many vacant homes here that almost every property you show or preview is vacant. It's just how our market it right now.

We have a lot of homeless people too.  Everyone is looking for a place to rest their heads for a while.  It's a problem that I don't see going away for sometime to come unfortunately.

A few reasons for the homeless problem is our high unemployment rate and and so many people having bad credit that they can't get a place to rent.  How awful is that?  Landlords need to step up to the plate and consider working with people who have bad credit.  The main reason people are in that situation is because they have lost their homes due to foreclosure, short sale or BK.  It's related to anything else.

I believe its a concern everywhere... I personally carry a 950000 volt stun gun with me once I go show properties. You never know what could happen, its safe to hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

Looks like we all might need a concealed weapons permit just to show a house!! What a shame.
