Tupelo Real Estate - How Do You Select Your REALTOR?

By
Industry Observer with Living in the Pacific

Yesterday I received a message from a peer reminding me of the emerging importance of real estate agent ranking websites. Many of these sites started out several years ago simply looking to enter the lead generation marketplace. Many sites simply have not evolved into any real benefit to speak of.

Until Now!

Although I have been involved in real estate sales for 10 years, I've learned that one of the continuing and most difficult things to accomplish in this business is you must spend money to Get Noticed! While referrals are a good part of my business, we are learning that the 25-35 year olds make up the majority of the first time home buyers in most markets. And while they are certainly part of the "I need it now" generation, they rely on digital information streams for recommendations for much of what they do. For example; a online buyer will read recommendations before spending .99 cents for a song download or $4.95 for a movie download. If they're relying on the recommendations of complete strangers (and strangers of strangers) before they make such a minimal outlay of money, imagine the eventual lengths they will go through to make major purchase

There are good, and even great agents out there. There are bad ones! The consumer should embrace the thought that there is a ton of information available...helping them make accurate assessments in choosing the right agent to work with. With this in mind, and while this is such an important and complicated process, why would a potential seller or buyer choose their agent from a yard sign?

Among the several sites that are available to the public in spotlighting agent success and to help facilitate the process of locating the right agent to work with, please visit  http://www.incredibleagents.com/

Active Rain http://activerain.com is also a great place to discover and witness the success of real estate agents in your marketplace. The emerging prominence of rating websites will become increasingly important in helping the consumer select the best agent now and in the future. As with most products and services, the consumer must learn to be wary of paid advertisements and announcements.

Of course the easiest way to discover the best ranking site for your area is to simply Google "real estate agent rankings", and let your research begin. Never again should the consumer have to settle for mediocracy in choosing help with making one of the most important decisions in their life.  Well all in all, it just make more sense than it did yesterday.

One issue...I do know a Realtor who has a really bad reputation...but he actually pays his clients to fill out positive ratings for him...actually pays cash.

Maybe his reputation is not really a reputation, yet?

Then again Jeffrey, maybe he should run for congress as he appears qualified in some respects!
