The turkey is history and Black Friday is well underway. There are many members of the Armed Forces who are unable to participate in the preparations for the holidays, due to their military service. In fact, many of them will be away from family, friends and loved ones this Christmas season.
If you have a few extra minutes, why not write a card to a service person or veteran? Let them know that we understand, and are grateful for, all that they have scarified for our country.
The Red Cross and Pitney Bowes are teaming up to collect cards to be distributed around the world as part of their, Holiday Mail For Heroes program. The deadline of December 10 is quickly approaching.
Pull out your leftover cards from last season, or pick up some new ones while out shopping, and write out a couple for these committed men and women.
Once completed, mail them to Holiday Mail for Heroes, P.O. Box 5456, Capitol Heights, MD 20791-5456.
You will bring a smile to a military service person and will feel good about thanking them for their service.
Please re-blog this so that as many cards as possible will reach our service people this holiday season.
